Self-Priming Suction Vessel Systems

Precision Pump Systems has developed a range of vacuum priming systems for smaller pump systems that don’t require any vacuum pumps or control of any kind. This is using a vacuum priming suction vessel that uses the vacuum created by the water pump to draw water up into the pump to prime on start-up. This is a very effective, reliable and low-cost priming method that doesn’t require any foot valves, control systems, vacuum pumps or costly ongoing maintenance. This system is, however, limited in the scale of the pump system but is very effective for pumps with suction pipes up to 200mm.  

The priming vessel can be optioned with automated valves to top up the required make up water in the vessel and sensors to detect low vacuum pressure or low water level in remote, unmanned pump systems.
